I'm just curious about plans for expanding the feature base of the unit and the implementation of some new features.

I have one question too.

Question first, the HU supports 7 seperate output channels, 6 full outputs plus 1 subwoofer output. In 5.1 surround sound mode, the subwoofer is present and has seperate menu functions/tuning features. In 2-way/3-way active mode, these seperate features disappear. Is the subwoofer output even usable in 3-way mode? If so, what are its limitations? If not, why is it not usable? What about attenuation control, time alignement, etc...

It would be nice to see seperate low pass and subsonic filters as well as attenuation and time alignment on the subwoofer out, seperate from the other 6 channels. In 5.1 surround sound mode, there are a few of these features. Are there hardware limitations to this?

For updates and additional features, there was talk of creating a parametric EQ for the HU. When will this happen. As well, can one be made for each independent channel, not just left/right only? 7 channels, 7 seperate EQs, chooseable graphic or parametric. Is this possible with the hardware of the HU?

It is pretty obvious that the expansion of the software system on this HU is not a priority. Your company is continuously moving forward with new products and developement. I've even heard talk of the consideration of building a second version of the CDD Concert unit, something wholely new, some years in the future perhaps.

I'm curious if you guys have considered passing the expansion of the software functionality of the HU to the end users via a SDK(software developement kit), so we can customize and talor the HU to our needs as well as develope new and unique features that could be shared with other users. Would this be possible in the future?

One last question. I don't suppose you guys could ever write up an english version of the manual and provide a downloadable file from your site? I know a downloadable copy of the Russian version is available, but no English. Maybe you guys have one buried somewhere. Could you provide a link if you have one already. If not, any plans on writing one up?

hi, mvm2

first, thank you for your interest

I'm just curious about plans for expanding the feature base of the unit and the implementation of some new features.
basically, unit has already sheduled functionality, so we have no far-reaching plans

it is well known that unit has "only" 6 (six) full featured independed channels. You ask about 7th... There is no full 7th output (no h/w to implement it inside HU). However, user has possibility to use so-called "virtual" 7th (sub) channel that is filtered (12dB/oct, 60Hz) sum of 1st and 2nd channels. Consider this output as bonus and nothing more.

In 2-way/3-way mode: use ANY (of six) independent output (or outputs) as subout (with subsonic, attenuation, delays, etc).

In 5.1 surround mode: Subwoofer out sits on ch.#6 and Center out - on ch.#5

For updates and additional features, there was talk of creating a parametric EQ for the HU. When will this happen. Graphic: it is possible (since 2003) to set up each (of six) channel individually.
Parametric: no approved plans

The talk concerning second version must be seen as rumour.

No, ConceRt is based on closed architecture (both h/w and s/w), so no SDK is available for third party development.

URAL ConceRt is domestic market oriented product. There are some amateur RU-EN User Manual translations (see 1 (http://www.cdd.ru/repository/UCManual_eng1.pdf ) and 2 (http://www.cdd.ru/repository/UCManual_eng2.doc ))

Hmm, I had thought the 7th out had more operating control. I had purchased the HU as a means to fully control a 3-way active setup + sub with full x-over and time alignment control. I guess I thought too far on the sub part.

It's kind of sad to hear about the lack of a SDK. I find such customizability nice, and a vast user software network has a knack for making up neat things and it takes some effort off the company and the developers to expand the product.
